Ottenby Nature Reserve & Långe Jan*
Ottenby is one of Sweden's best places for birdwatching - here is also Sweden's tallest lighthouse, Långe Jan, which has stood guard since the 1700th century. Climb the lighthouse for miles of views across Kalmarsund, visit Naturum Ottenby and walk along the coast. At certain times you may catch a glimpse of seals.

Eketorps Castle*

A journey back to the Iron Age and the Middle Ages. Eketorp Castle is a reconstructed ancient castle where you can experience how people lived over a thousand years ago – interactive exhibitions, crafts and summertime family activities and guided tours.

The candle factory in Kastlösa
In this charming craft village on southern Öland you can experience traditional candle making up close. The scent of warm candle wax mixes with a genuine, rural atmosphere that invites both creativity and peace.

Mörbylånga Harbour and Köping

A picturesque town with cozy streets, close to the water and a glimpse of the quiet everyday life of Öland. Visit Little Bistro (really good hamburgers), Hotel Magasin1 (local collaborations and raw materials) and Pizzeria Linda – in the courtyard during the summer. Take a walk along the harbor and a turn past Mörbylångadalen.

Capellagården in Vickleby*

The craft and design school founded by Carl Malmsten. Take a tour of the flower beds and orchards, discover ceramics, textiles and furniture in the farm shop, and stroll through Vickleby village, which is characterized by art and culture.

Gårdby Café & Country Store
A real rural gem where you are greeted by the scent of freshly baked goods. Enjoy homemade cakes and buns in the charming garden, browse through locally produced goods in the country store and buy delicacies to take home with you.

The Paradise Workshop*

A creative oasis with colorful, playful ceramic creations designed and made on site. Explore the showroom, see the craftsmanship up close and bring a piece of Öland's design tradition home. All the porcelain in our dining room comes from here.

Big Pipe – Grandma's and Hawk's Booth*
A cozy harbor village with a genuine archipelago atmosphere – one of the family’s absolute favorites. Try Mormors Stenugnsbageri & Kaffestuga (we recommend the cardamom buns and the pear and chevre sandwich) and Hökarboden’s Neapolitan pizzas – the best on Öland in our opinion.

Vida Museum & Art Hall*
A modern art museum with a focus on contemporary art and design, beautifully situated high above Kalmarsund. Run by Hampus and Emilia Vallien. The combination of Swedish and international art and the breathtaking view make the visit memorable.

Ismantorp castle
One of Öland's best preserved ancient castles, probably from the Iron Age, surrounded by lush nature that gives a mysterious feeling. Explore the castle ruins and fantasize about life a thousand years ago - perfect for both history buffs and nature lovers.

Öland's Museum Himmelsberga
A living open-air museum that shows life in the Öland countryside in the past. Stroll among beautifully preserved farms with period-decorated log houses, and visit the art museum with both permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Borgholm's castle ruin*
The symbol of Öland and one of Sweden's most impressive castle ruins, with a history dating back to the 1100th century. Take a guided tour about royal intrigues and dramatic fires – and if you haven't been to a concert here, it's something quite special.

The royal family's summer residence with lush gardens and flower plantings. Stroll through the garden rooms, have a coffee at the café and see the exhibition about the royal family's summer life - perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

Long Erik & the Troll Forest
The white-painted lighthouse on Öland's northern tip with magnificent sea views – and right next to Trollskogen, known for its gnarled pines and mythical atmosphere. Climb the lighthouse in season, hike the winding paths and visit Naturum Trollskogen.

Boda Sand*
One of Sweden's most famous beaches - miles of light sand and shallow water. Set up camp in the sand, try windsurfing or SUP, and explore the campsite that is like a small town. Read about the family owners who run the company sustainably and inspiringly.

The coastal road past Jordhamn*

Spectacular views of the west coast where the sea meets barren cliffs – and Jordhamn windmill, one of the island’s last remaining windmills. Follow the coastal path, stop at the lookout points, bring your binoculars for birdwatching and pack a picnic basket for a quiet moment by the sea.

Kapelludden lighthouse*
A beautiful symbol of the history of the coast on the eastern side of Öland. In the flat landscape, the lighthouse rises between land and sea, and right next to it lies the ruin of the medieval St. Brita's chapel - a peaceful nature experience with historical elements.
